Dell Displaylink Driver D3100

I work in an office space and a few of us have dell docking stations (D3100 and 3000's) and 2 external monitors each to complement our work laptops.

The moving company for my company relocation lost my Dell D3100 AC Adapter Power Supply. I used the D3100 docking station for two more HDMI monitor display (total of 4) originally. In order to get multiple displays back, I found this item and ordered it. Read and download Dell Docking Stations USB3.0 dock D3100 Owner's Manual Page 10 online. Download free Dell user manuals, owners manuals, instructions, warranties and installation guides, etc. Brands Products New Manuals. Downloading the latest driver from the Displaylink website. The driver information is up-to-date. To view all drivers for your Dell Monitor Stand MKS14, go to Drivers and downloads. Driver for Dell SuperSpeed USB3.0 Docking Station (D3100/D3000), Universal Dongle (DA100) and Dell MKS14 monitor stand.

Myself and another employee are experiencing random cases of the dock causing the computer to freeze for about 5 seconds, then the laptop monitor blacks out and comes back on, then the other 2 monitors black out and turn back on and everything is back to normal, except the 3rd screen's windows are now moved to the main monitor (as though it had been disconnected completely). There is also the sound of the USB disconnecting and then the sound of it reconnecting, but this occurs after the freeze, and the 2nd external monitor does not have any of the files move to the main screen. The freezing only seems to happen (randomly) when using the external monitor screens, and it is very annoying when it does happen.

This has only started happening recently and appears to only occur when I am doing works on one of the external monitors.

I have tried replacing the docking station with another of the exact model (D3100), didnt work. I updated the drivers - didnt work. I rolled back the drivers - didnt work. I downloaded the latest drivers from the dell website and manually suggested them for the device (it stated the drivers were up to date) so that did not work. Just in case it was my usb ports shutting off external power I disabled that in my control panel AND my device manager.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any fixes for this? Im starting to want to move to a different docking station because of this as I cannot continue to work with it doing this freeze randomly.

Dell displaylink driver d3100 manual

commented May 17, 2016

Just tried the new release. I've a Dell D3100 dock connected to a Fedora system, compiled the kernel module and installed the DisplayLinkManager and companions. I've disabled selinux because of tons of complaints I didn't want to investigate for testing.

Now - for the first time, I can see something on the secondary monitor. BUT it is so incredibly slow, that it can't be used at all. I'm not sure how I can debug that. Any ideas?

Let's keep GitHub for evdi only. Could you please raise this at DisplayLink Forum? This post has link to a log gathering tool - but if you experience high CPU usage of DLM then it would be great if you could also use gdb to make a core file while the app is running (see this for more info and potentially also a fix?). Thanks.

Sigh. I really don't like this forum stuff. But if it's the correct place for it, I'll have no choice. Thanks.

The forum works as I know forums. No reaction for two days. Not even a download of the core file :-(

Don't worry, analysis of the dump already sits in the backlog of things to do this sprint. I wonder if you see this when things are slow?
